Robot No. 9 (Elijah Wood) suddenly wakes up and finds the world around him full of crisis, ruins and apocalyptic scenes. No. 9 fled to the street with a round object with three strange symbols on it. Fortunately, he met the inventor robot No. 2 (Martin Landau) who installed a voice for him, but No. 2 was unfortunately captured by the robot monster. No. 9 found veteran No. 1 (Christopher Plummer), mechanic No. 5 (John C. Reilly), crazy painter No. 6 (Crispin Glover) and strongman No. 8 (Fred Tatasciore). No. 9 and No. 5 went out without permission to rescue No. 2.
