The story begins in Poland in 1977. 18-year-old Thomas (Andrzej Seweryn) followed his mother Sofia and father Kislaw to leave his familiar hometown and came to the capital Warsaw, where the family decided to start a new life. However, it is obvious that Thomas does not like his days in Warsaw. His extremely sensitive and inferior character has plunged him into deep depression. Kislaw is at the beginning of his career. As an artist, he wants to make a name for himself in the art circle of Warsaw. Naturally, he has no time to take care of his son's changes, and his mother can't do anything about it. To make matters worse, Thomas began to be curious about death. After a failed suicide attempt, the family finally began to pay attention to Thomas's abnormality. Sofia and Kislaw decided to save this shaky home.
