Description:In 2000, the 18-year armed conflict in South Lebanon was coming to an end. Demolitionist Amoz (Ami Weinberg) was sent to Fort Beaufort, a fortress built during the Crusades in the 12th century, to defuse bombs. Outpost commander Riraz (Oshri Cohen) caused dissatisfaction among the sentries with his arrogant attitude and orders that forced Amoz to defuse bombs regardless of danger, especially a sentry named Kress (Itay Tiran). At the same time, rumors spread in the army that Israel was about to withdraw its troops from Fort Beaufort, while the missile offensive of Hezbollah in Lebanon became stronger day by day. The film won the Silver Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival, four major awards from the Israel Film Institute for Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and Best Sound Effects, and was nominated for the 2008 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, and received six nominations from the Israel Film Institute for Best Picture, Best Actor (Osri Cohen), Best Director (Joseph Star), Best Screenplay, Best Costumes, and Best Music.
