The film takes place in Bolivia in Central America, where the two protagonists of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid died. The choices faced by the characters are simple and pure, life and death, or freedom, promise, loyalty, courage, justice and even love," said director Mateo Gil. "The decisions they make are not only full of dramatic effects, but also have educational significance." Gil is the screenwriter partner of the famous director Alexandre Amenbar, and has written works such as "Open Your Eyes", "Deep Sea Sleep", and "City Square". His 1999 directorial debut "The Devil Reborn" was also starring Noriega and was nominated for a Goya Special Effects Award. He then launched a TV movie called "The Devil" in 2005.
