The mountain novel "Mountain of the Gods" written by Japanese fantasy novelist Baku Yumemakura in 1998, the author of "Onmyoji", is confirmed to be adapted for the big screen. The original story revolves around the life trajectories of two men obsessed with the world's highest peak "Mount Everest", and tells the adventurous spirit of the two men who are not afraid of hardships and bravely climb to the top. The author Baku Yumemakura said frankly, "This novel is finally going to be made into a movie, but the reality is that everyone, including the director and actors, has to carry a camera and climb up the high mountains of the Himalayas to shoot. The story tells that Japanese photographer Makoto Fukamachi discovered an old camera while wandering around the black market in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. This camera is very similar to the camera used by British mountaineer George Mallory, who mysteriously disappeared on June 8, 1924 after failing in his first attempt to climb Mount Everest. In order to explore the secret of the camera, Makoto Fukamachi unexpectedly meets the legendary Japanese mountaineer Joji Hanyu who has been missing for many years.
