On an unnamed planet in the vast universe, there live two creatures of very different sizes. The dominant one is the Deges, who are huge, have extremely high civilization and wisdom, and can free their spirits from their bodies and roam freely; on the other hand, the Oms, who have the appearance and body of earthlings, have primitive and backward social forms, and are like ants in front of the Deges, so they naturally become slaves and playthings of these giants. The Oms have tenacious vitality and reproductive ability, and their number is increasing day by day, causing trouble for the rulers. So, a war against the Oms was launched. This was originally an insignificant action like exterminating pests, but an inconspicuous Oms changed the situation of both sides. Tyr is an Oms male pet raised by a Deges girl. He learned the advanced scientific and cultural knowledge of the Deges through his master's teaching machine. By chance, Tyr escaped from the Deges family and became the leader of the Oms against the rulers... This film won the Special Award at the 1973 Cannes Film Festival.
