John (Channing Tatum) of the U.S. Army Special Forces accidentally met the female student Savannah (Amanda Seyfried) on vacation in his hometown, and the two soon fell in love. After John grew up, he rarely communicated with his father who was obsessed with collecting coins, but Savannah was very friendly to John's father. The vacation of the two ended soon. When they parted, John promised Savannah that his service would end in one year, and then the two would never separate again. Overseas troops often camped in some remote areas, and John could only express his feelings to Savannah through letters. In those affectionate words, both of them looked forward to being together in the future. The 911 incident broke out, and John had to extend his service period, and the relationship between the two was in crisis, but they soon reconciled. John had not received Savannah's letter for a long time after returning to the army, but what he was waiting for day and night was Savannah's breakup letter. Before John's heartbreak, he was injured. Before he passed out, he thought of the coins his father had collected. A few years later, when John saw Savina again, he discovered the secret behind the breakup letter. This film is adapted from the 11th novel, The Breakup Letter, by Nicholas Sparks, the American "King of Pure Love Novels".
