This film is adapted from the female-oriented love adventure game "Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan" released by IDEAFACTORY in September 2008 for PS2. During the turbulent late shogunate, Chizuru Yukimura was the daughter of Yukimura Tsunami, a Dutch doctor who grew up in Edo. Her father Tsunami was supposed to work in Kyoto after separating from his daughter. But her father suddenly disappeared mysteriously, and Chizuru, who was worried about not being able to contact her father, decided to disguise herself as a man and visit Kyoto. There, what she saw was the Shinsengumi soldiers who fought and subdued the monsters who were hungry for blood. Chizuru and the Shinsengumi had a wonderful fate and joined the Shinsengumi by chance. In front of the protagonist who was searching for his missing father, mysterious assassins appeared, and the secret of the Shinsengumi gradually became clear - the existence of Rakshasa. In the violent era, behind the struggle at the end of the shogunate, the men who wielded the blades of ideals and beliefs in their hearts also began their battle with darkness...
