Grace (Annette Bening) and her husband Edward (Bill Nighy) have been married for 29 years. During these decades, Grace has been very glad that she chose a good man like Edward to be her husband. However, just as their 29th wedding anniversary is approaching, Grace is suddenly informed by Edward that the latter has made plans for divorce and has found a new partner. This sudden change in marriage has brought about earth-shaking changes in Grace's life. Edward is determined to divorce. In addition to facing the earthquake in her heart, Grace also has to deal with trivial divorce matters. After leaving her husband, how she will survive alone has become a problem that Grace must face.
