During the Japanese Warring States Period, warlords fought against each other constantly, and the people were separated from their wives and children, suffering unspeakably. It was not until the establishment of the Tokugawa Shogunate that the country was slightly stable. However, there were still lords who were still ambitious and ready to move, and under the appearance of peace, there were undercurrents. Obata Tsukisai (Yoshio Harada), who lost his beloved son in the war, set up a killer group under the guidance of Master Tianhai of Nankobo (Kei Sato), aiming to assassinate those lords who were plotting rebellion. The girl Azumi (Aya Ueto), who lost her parents, and nine boys were adopted by Tsukisai and trained as killers. They not only need to have superb martial arts, but also abandon all emotions and values. After several years of training, Azumi and her surviving friends became apprentices and began their killer journey full of blood and fighting...
