Turner (Dexter Gordon) was once a very famous saxophone player. Now, he is old and hides in New York's high-end nightclubs to play for the guests who come to entertain. Unable to bear the days of being ignored, Turner finally left the nightclub and went to Paris to join the first black musician group. This group quickly became famous after several very successful performances. Francis (François Cluzet) is a poor advertising designer. He was deeply attracted by Turner's performance. By chance, the two met. Francis was shocked to find that Turner in life had almost no self-care ability and was always deceived by bad women. So, Francis rented a small apartment for Turner and took care of his daily life there.
