Gifted but misunderstood engineer Giorgio has hit rock bottom. He's fired, his parents won't talk to him, and his girlfriend dumped him after he accidentally got herself and her arrested (long story...). Tired of the stuffy Italian society of the late 60s, Giorgio hatches an impossible plan; he'll build his own island in the sea. Joined by a group of revolutionaries and outcasts, the Republic of Rose Island is founded and declares independence, with Giorgio named president. However, their team values and resilience will be tested when Italy's Prime Minister considers Giorgio's dream island to be Italy's number one enemy.
