The cherry blossoms are flying in the Mizusawa Metropolitan High School, and a girl who loves karuta, Chihaya Ayase (played by Hirose Suzu), is here. In elementary school, Chihaya was influenced by the transfer student Wataya Arata (played by Mackenyuu) and got involved in karuta competition, and she has been unstoppable ever since. After entering high school, she reunited with Majima Taichi (played by Nomura Shuhei), who participated in the competition with her and Wataya, and the two of them jointly founded the competitive karuta club. In addition to the two of them, there are also members such as Oe Kanade (played by Kamishiraishi Moone), Nishida Yusei (played by Yamoto Yuma), and Komano Tsutomu (played by Morinaga Yuki). Everyone worked together and moved forward step by step towards the goal of the national competition. However, standing in front of them was the famous school with a long history of competitive karuta, Kitao Gakuen, and the powerful opponent ruthlessly crushed this newly established team. During this period, Chihaya got the news from Wataya, and she was full of joy, looking forward to this long-lost friend to step onto the competitive karuta field again... This film is adapted from the manga of the same name by Yuki Suetsugu.
