Ramanujan (Dev Patel) was born in a very poor family in India. From a very young age, he showed extraordinary mathematical talent, but because of his poor family background, his family could not provide Ramanujan with a good educational environment. In 1904, Ramanujan entered Kumbakonam University with his own efforts, but he did not graduate because of his serious bias. In the days that followed, Ramanujan began to teach himself mathematics. In 1912, Ramanujan's paper "Some Properties of Bernuni Numbers" was published. This article aroused some splashes in the mathematical community and brought some fame to Ramanujan. Later, with the help of his friends, Ramanujan wrote a letter of self-recommendation to the famous mathematician Hardy (Jeremy Irons). Hardy attached great importance to this promising young man and recommended him to Cambridge University for further study.
