However, due to the outbreak of the Imjin Japanese Invasion, her love with the 15th king of Joseon, Gwanghaegun (Lee Sang-yoon), who had a tragic fate, ended in vain. In order to end the war, she finally chose to sacrifice herself. Together with her childhood sweetheart, Kim Tae-do (Kim Bum), who had been silently guarding her, she traveled to Japan to spread the Korean ceramic craft there. She became the ancestor of pottery at the Uchidayama kilns in Japan, and was later known as Baekposeon.
