At the end of the 16th century, the struggle for power between the East and West in the court became increasingly fierce. Yu Li, who formed the "Datongqi" to resist foreign enemies, was involved in it and was sentenced to death for treason. Han Shenjun, the mastermind behind the Datongqi case, had a bastard son, Han Jianzi (played by Bai Chengxuan). Han Jianzi had no status in the Han family. Yu Li's friend during his lifetime, the blind master Huang Chushi (played by Huang Zhengmin), came forward to stop Menghe and rescued the seriously injured Han Jianzi.
