ABC's new fall 2009 drama "V" is a remake of the 1980s drama of the same name, telling the story of aliens pretending to be friendly invading the earth. The story setting seems quite old-fashioned at first glance, but what is different from ordinary science fiction dramas is that the aliens in the drama are no different from earthlings. The drama ostensibly revolves around earthlings and aliens, but in essence it is still a human social proposition of trust and betrayal. The drama is jointly produced by HD Filmes and Warner Bros., supervised by Scott Peters, the producer of the Emmy Award-winning drama "4400", and the first pilot is directed by Yves Simoneau (4400). Actors in "V" include Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost), Morris Chestnut, Joel Gretsch (Taken, 4400), Lourdes Benedicto (The Nine), Logan Huffman, Laura Vandervoort (Smallville), Morena Baccarin (Firefly) and Scott Wolf (The Nine). The story begins one morning when people wake up to find a huge alien spaceship floating above the city. The aliens that emerged from the spaceship said they had no ill will towards the people on Earth and came for the pursuit of peace, and presented advanced technology beyond people's imagination. But the intentions of the friendly aliens are obviously not as simple as they seem on the surface. While chasing a terrorist attack, Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell), an agent of the Department of Homeland Security, accidentally discovered the true purpose of the alien visitors. But when Erica ran around and caused a disaster of killing, she realized that the real aliens had already infiltrated important institutions of human society without knowing it, including the Department of Homeland Security where she worked, and it was difficult to distinguish between friends and enemies for a while. With nowhere to go, she began to secretly cooperate with the "Anti-Alien Resistance Movement" organization, and met the leader of the resistance movement, Father Jack Landry (Joel Gretsch) and a V-star Ryan who supported the earthlings. The old version of "V Invasion" was released in 1983 and 1984, and related novels, animations and game products were also launched one after another.
