1965 was the era of Martin Luther King and the Black Panther Party, the Beatles and the Vietnam War, and white people dominating the world in basketball. High school women's basketball coach Don Huggins (Josh Lucas) was hired by Texas Western University. Although the salary offered was not high - the family could only live in the boys' dormitory temporarily, and the board's funding was not enough to recruit high-level athletes, Huggins took the offer and immediately started a wide-ranging player search with his assistants, targeting black players. The coaching staff found seven talented black players one after another, and these players had different personalities and strengths. After a passionate duel, the black and white players quickly became one and threw themselves into the harsh training of Coach Huggins. The occasional violations of the players and the difference in basketball philosophy made the coach and the players gradually grow... Finally, the season began. The Texas Western team was victorious all the way. Faced with the violent threats of racists and the contempt of some public opinion, Coach Huggins decided to rush to the top of the road to glory with his black players...
