Description:In the early 17th century, after a long period of conquest and annexation, the Japanese Warring States Period came to an end and entered the era of the Tokugawa Shogunate. Peace came, and it was replaced by a large number of samurai who were displaced and struggling for their livelihoods. During this period, some ronin asked to commit disembowelment in front of the nobles to save their face, some were retained, and some received material assistance, but there were many blackmailers among them. One day, the famous Ii family welcomed a young ronin named Chi Chiyan Qiu Nu (played by Eita). In order to put an end to this evil trend, the Ii family pretended to be real and forced Chi Chiyan to die tragically in an undignified way. It was thought that this would deter the blackmailing ronin, but soon another middle-aged samurai named Tsukumo Hanshiro (played by Ichikawa Ebizo) came to ask for death... This film is based on the novel by Yasuhiko Takiguchi.
