In Beirut in 1972, American diplomat Mason Scales (Joe Ham) hosted a party, and terrorists suddenly attacked the party, causing a bloody tragedy... 10 years later, Mason returned to Boston to work, but he also became an alcoholic. One day, a stranger approached him, gave him a passport, a plane ticket and cash, plus an urgent invitation from "friends", asking him to fly to Beirut immediately. He arrived reluctantly and saw that the previously picturesque coastal city had become a war zone plagued by violence. He soon learned the real reason for being called back - terrorists kidnapped his friend, CIA agent Carl Reilly (Mark Pellegrino). The US Embassy gave him the task of negotiating. The other party's condition was to release Abrajal, the leader of the terrorist organization. It was said that he was imprisoned in Israel, and Abrajal's freedom must be exchanged for Carl Reilly. The embassy sent Shanti Klaud (Rosamon Pike) to assist Mason in the negotiation. He secretly met with the kidnappers and tried to find clues to help him clarify the power struggle between Israeli military bosses, American politicians, the Minister of the Palestine Liberation Front and corrupt bureaucrats. Haunted by past trauma, he faces a difficult question: who can you trust in a world where the truth only emerges when it's expedient or beneficial?
