The summer of Kaohsiung in 1985 was filled with the fragrance of magnolias and the restlessness of youth. In the unopened Taiwanese campus, the instructors were the only ones in power. The school without democracy and freedom could not suppress Wang Xinren's (played by Feng Xiaoyue) rebellious heart, so he wrote acrostic poems and planned a collective protest dance. Along with him, Chen Zhongliang (played by Zhang Xiaoquan) and Lin Meibao (played by Gui Lunmei) were lawless. The three of them were often together, and their love was growing quietly. The dull Zhongliang could not understand Meibao's hints; Xinren actively pursued Meibao; and Zhongliang, who had a girlfriend the earliest, was confused. Taipei in 1990. Ah Ren was indispensable in the turbulent student movement, and Ah Liang was Ah Ren's best audience. Meibao, who became Ah Ren's boyfriend and girlfriend, came to Taipei from her hometown from time to time, and the three of them were still close. A grand student rally attracted the attention of the police and also broke the relationship between the three. Ah Liang chose to step out of the city wall; Ah Ren could not resist the external temptation; Meibao, who saw all this, could no longer choose to ignore it. After entering society, they met again after not contacting each other for many years. The former friends and lovers now have new identities. Can they finally regain their courage and return to the dreamlike hometown in 1985 after asking for trouble for love?
