This film is adapted from the best-selling Norwegian novel of the same name in 2006. The protagonist of the story, Eva, is a "hairy girl" who lives in Northern Europe in the early 20th century. Because of her genetic disease, her body is covered with hair. People call her Leo Girl. The film follows her growth experience and describes the life in Northern Europe at that time. From playing a clown in a theater troupe to becoming a writer, Leo Girl Eva slowly learns to accept herself, lives independently with her own wisdom, and finally wins the respect of others.
