This film is adapted from Agatha Christie's novel of the same name. Poirot (David Suchet) solves a complicated case for the British military when he visits Istanbul. On his way back to London, he meets Mr. Bouc, the director of the old friend International Coach Company, who books a ticket for Poirot on the Orient Express at the last minute. On the train, Poirot meets Samuel, a wealthy American businessman, who tells Poirot that his life is threatened and is willing to pay a large sum of money for him to protect himself, but Poirot refuses. When Poirot wakes up the next morning, he finds that the train is trapped in a snowstorm and Samuel has been murdered in the compartment. With the help of Mr. Bouc and Dr. Constantine, he begins to investigate the murder. Can he successfully solve this confusing and shocking case?
