The story takes place in Newcastle in the north of England. Because of the subprime mortgage crisis, Ricky (Kris Hitchen) not only lost his job, but also took on a huge debt. In order to make a living, Ricky borrowed money to buy a small truck, ready to start the second spring of his career by delivering goods. Who knew that his unthoughtful move brought irreparable harm to the whole family. Ricky's wife Abby (Debbie Honeywood) is a domestic worker who specializes in serving the disabled and the elderly. Now, she has to rely on buses to travel to and from different employers' homes, which makes her very tired. In order to repay the loan of the truck, Ricky had to spend more time at work, which made their eldest son Seb (Rhys Stone) feel left out.
