In the early morning of the streets of New York, the beautiful woman Holly (Audrey Hepburn) wandered in front of the window. She is the socialite of New York's upper class. Holly, who worships money and material, but does not lose her innocence and kindness, is like the "Lady of the Camellias" in New York, relying on fifty or one hundred per hour to earn social income. In her heart, there is another important goal, that is, to marry a rich man. Holly's new neighbor is a writer Paul (George Peppard), who dreams of becoming famous, but also relies on the supply of the rich wife. Paul, who met Holly, fell in love, tried every means to let Holly return to normal life, and proposed to her. However, Holly seemed unwilling to do so. In her heart, marrying such a person and giving up her previous efforts was too worthless. However, Holly stumbled on the road to finding happiness until one day she suddenly understood the meaning of happiness.
