In 1978, 20-year-old Peng Jinxi from Xingcheng, Liaoning, was reported by his rival Qin Sheng for "speculation" and was imprisoned, losing the qualification to go to college. After being released from prison, Peng Jinxi started a swimming trunks business by producing and selling his own products. His girlfriend Luo Hong never left him. They overcame many difficulties and got married. Peng Jinxi became the first "ten thousand yuan household" in the local area. In the early 1980s, when the policy was liberalized, distant relatives such as Jia Weimin followed Peng Jinxi's example and built a workshop to make swimwear, and started a price war with him. Peng Jinxi and his wife responded to each other's moves, consolidating the local market and uniting their peers. Peng Jinxi led the way for "Xingcheng Swimwear" to go nationwide. In the 1990s, Peng Jinxi was hit by Qin Sheng's revenge and market rectification, and fell into a trough. He remained optimistic. With his extraordinary wisdom, he found a breakthrough after several ups and downs, established a formal factory and independent brand, and successfully broke through. Afterwards, Peng Jinxi and his wife led "Xingcheng Swimwear" to ride the wind and waves and become the world's largest swimwear production base. One out of every four swimsuits in the world is produced by Xingcheng people.
