The story takes place in London in the 1950s. Reynolds (Daniel Day-Lewis) and his sister Cyril (Lesley Manville) run a clothing shop called "Woodcock House". In the upper class society of London at that time, being able to wear a dress sewn by Reynolds himself was the wish of every prince and celebrity. By chance, Reynolds met a waitress named Alma (Vicky Krieps) in a restaurant, and the two fell in love at first sight. Reynolds led Alma into the colorful world of flowers, but Alma's eyes were always fixed on Reynolds' figure. In life, Reynolds is a particularly difficult and picky weirdo. As they get along day and night, he and Alma have repeated conflicts. Seeing Reynolds' attitude getting colder and colder, Alma knew that she had to take action to defend her love.
