Introduction

In the cold and remote northern country, people have lived here for generations. In this pure and harsh land, there is a flower from a foreign land, weak but strong. Her name is Kazami Tamiko (Chieko Baisho). In her early years, she followed her lover to the northern country to run a farm despite her family's opposition. A few years ago, her husband passed away. Tamiko had to continue to support the farm and raise her son Takeshi (Hidetaka Yoshioka). Who knows the hardship. One day, a taciturn man with a resolute face passed by the farm. He came back and begged Tamiko to stay here to help. Although she had many concerns, Tamiko still took in this man named Tajima Kosaku (Ken Takakura). Kosaku was burdened with a past that he could not bear to look back on. In this remote place far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, he devoted himself to work, not only forged a deep friendship with Takeshi, but also won the trust of the people around him. His perseverance slowly opened the door to Minzi's heart... This film is the last part of the "Minzi Trilogy", the first two being "Family" and "Hometown".
