Bruno (Asa Butterfield), an eight-year-old boy, and his family moved from Berlin to the countryside with a transfer order from his father, a Nazi officer. Bruno, who lost his friends, soon became interested in the "farm" near his new home, where a group of people wearing "striped pajamas" were busy all day long, and one of them served Bruno's family. He described it as dirty and cautious. The surrounding environment and Bruno's behavior made his mother secretly worried, but his Nazi father stopped any behavior in the family that doubted the established policy. Bruno secretly met Schmuel, a boy of the same age on the other side of the barbed wire, and often brought him food. In the tense family atmosphere and his sister's change to the adult world, Schmuel was Bruno's only friend. One day Bruno decided to go to the other side of the barbed wire to see Schmuel's father... This film is adapted from John Byrne's novel of the same name and won the Audience Choice Award at the 2008 Chicago International Film Festival.
