The story takes place during the Song and Jin Dynasties. The Taoist leader Tiansheng (played by Guan Lijie) and Cheng Ruoshi (played by Zhou Huimin) are in love with each other. Ruoshi is pregnant with Tiansheng's child. The two want to live in seclusion in the ancient tomb and escape from the disputes. Tiansheng's senior brother Xuansheng (played by Lin Shangwu) covets the Nine Yin Manual and colludes with the Jin people to rebel, forcing Tiansheng to come out of the mountain and be irreconcilable with him. In the fight, Xuansheng kidnapped Ruoshi and her son. In the end, in order to protect his family, Tiansheng unfortunately died. Before he died, he entrusted his son to his senior brother Huang Shang (played by Li Hanchi). In a blink of an eye, 20 years have passed, and Tiansheng's son (played by Ekin Cheng) has grown up. One day, he met a golden man named Wanyan Feng (played by Luo Jialiang). The two people with similar interests became brothers, and Tiansheng's son was also named Chongyang. By chance, Wang Chongyang saved a woman named Lin Chaoying (played by Liang Yiling), who was determined to kill Wang Chongyang's adoptive father Huang Shang for revenge. The two fell in love with each other but were entangled in misunderstandings and love and hate. As time went by, Chongyang gradually learned about his life experience and decided to avenge his parents.
