In 1805, Napoleon was on the European continent, and only the British fleet could match him in naval warfare. Captain Jack (Russell Crowe) of the British Army and his warship Surprise were ordered to intercept the French warship Hell into the South Pacific. The two ships met for the first time on the north coast of Brazil. Hell defeated Surprise with its superior firepower and thick armor, and Jack barely escaped with the help of thick fog.
