Introduction

In 1805, Napoleon was on the European continent, and only the British fleet could match him in naval warfare. Captain Jack (Russell Crowe) of the British Army and his warship Surprise were ordered to intercept the French warship Hell into the South Pacific. The two ships met for the first time on the north coast of Brazil. Hell defeated Surprise with its superior firepower and thick armor, and Jack barely escaped with the help of thick fog. Although the first battle was unfavorable, Jack, who had followed General Nelson, was full of confidence in his warship, refused to return and began to study his opponent. Soon the two ships met again, and Jack used bait tactics to reverse the situation and tracked all the way to Cape Horn, which was ravaged by the storm. Jack's persistence caused opposition from his good friend Stephen, the ship's doctor, but Jack had an elite team. In the face of all the disadvantages, the crew persisted in targeted training. Stephen's accidental injury made Jack stop chasing and stay on the island to rest. This trip unexpectedly provided Jack with combat inspiration. Soon the Hell appeared again, and the two ships finally faced a fateful showdown... The film won more than ten awards including the 2004 Oscar for Best Cinematography and Best Sound Effects.
