Introduction

Nigel (Hugh Grant) is stuck in a marriage that is in the seven-year itch. He and his wife Fiona (Kristin Scott Thomas) decide to take a cruise to India to try to change their bad relationship. On the ship, he meets Oscar (Peter Coyote), a paralyzed writer, and his beautiful wife Mimi (Emmanuelle Seigner). Oscar seems to want to tell the stranger Nigel about his abnormal relationship with Mimi. When Oscar first met Mimi, they loved each other to death, and the fire of passion was burning. However, Mimi's charming charm only fascinated Oscar for a short time. He began to get tired of it. Although Mimi had an abortion for him, removed her uterus, and loved him deeply, Oscar still cruelly sent her away. After a car accident, Oscar, who was lying in the hospital, found that Mimi was standing in front of his bed and dragged him off the bed in anger, leaving Oscar disabled for life. They continued to live together. Mimi never stopped abusing Oscar, but they still loved each other. When Mimi met Fiona, a wonderful love ignited in her heart, and the two embraced and danced. In the end, Oscar pulled the trigger on Mimi.
