Alibi and PBS Masterpiece jointly produced the 6-episode crime drama "Annika", adapted from the very successful BBC Radio 4 radio drama "Annika Stranded", created by Nick Walker. Nicola Walker plays the protagonist Annika Stranded, a sharp, witty and mysterious inspector. The series tells the story of Annika leading a newly formed maritime murder expert team to investigate the unexplained, cruel and seemingly inexplicable murders that occurred on the Scottish waterways. Annika manages her talented but unconventional team and faces an equally smart but complicated teenage daughter. In the process, she breaks the fourth wall to make the audience her close friends and share her ironic observations on the case and life.
