The new season tells the story of a year after the full awakening of Synth consciousness. A divided Britain is in an uneasy peace between humans and Synths. However, when a community of Synths is established, the stability that both sides hope to achieve will be threatened. Synths Mia, Niska and Max (Gemma Chan, Emily Berrington and Ivanno Jeremiah) will continue to fight for survival; while humans Joe, Laura, their children Mattie, Toby and Sophie (Tom Goodman-Hill, Katherine Parkinson, Lucy Carless, Theo Stevenson and Pixie Davies) are trying to accept this new environment.
