Netflix's new Chinese film "The Ghost Bride" (the film version of the novel "The Ghost Bride") announced the start of filming and released a preview trailer. Starring Wu Kangren ("Termites: The Mystery of Desire" and "The Next Stop, Happiness"), Huang Peijia ("Baomi Cha Cha"), and Lin Ludi ("Aquaman"), it has a strong sense of the times. Adapted from the novel of the same name by Chinese-American writer Zhu Yangxi, the story mixes Chinese folk customs such as ghost marriage with romantic love and supernatural elements. Set in the 1890s, in colonial Malacca, it tells the story of Li Lan, the daughter of a respectable Chinese family, who was asked to become the "ghost bride" of the wealthy Lin family because her family fell into poverty - marrying the dead son of this family. She can have food and clothing, but marrying a dead person will follow her for the rest of her life, making it more difficult to escape. After that, Li Lan was drawn into the underworld and discovered the dark secrets of her "husband's family" and her family's past. Directed by Malaysian directors Guo Xiuzhuan ("Light") and He Yuheng ("Ms. K"). The screenwriter team comes from Hollywood and Taiwan, led by WuKaiYu, one of the screenwriters of "Hannibal" and "The Flash". The launch date has not yet been determined.
