In 1949, the Kuomintang reactionaries blatantly surrounded the CCP office in Chongqing, and our office was forced to withdraw to Yan'an. Under the leadership of the underground party, the Chongqing labor movement and student movement were in full swing; the "Advance Newspaper" compiled and printed by the underground party was deeply rooted in the hearts of the people in the mountain city, which made the Kuomintang government panic. The spy chief Xu Pengfei and Yan Zui sent their minions to break into Chongqing University and Shapingba Bookstore, our backup contact station, to track down clues to the "Advance Newspaper" in an attempt to crack our Chongqing underground party organization. Xu Yunfeng, the head of the underground party organization, noticed the enemy's conspiracy and took measures in time, but unfortunately he was betrayed by the traitor Fu Zhigao. Jiang Jie, Cheng Gang, Liu Enyang and other underground party members were also imprisoned for this. In prison, the enemy tortured our underground party members in an attempt to obtain secrets from them. Xu Yunfeng, Jiang Jie, Cheng Gang and others were brave and fearless and fought fiercely with the enemy. The enemy's conspiracy failed again and again. Before the liberation of Chongqing, the enemy slaughtered our revolutionary patriots crazily. Communist Party members such as Xu Yunfeng, Jiang Jie, Cheng Gang, and Mu Qingzhu died heroically to defend the mountain city and welcome liberation, writing a tragic chapter in the history of the Chinese revolution with their blood and lives.
