14 years ago, the awakening of Unit-01, which seemed to be the first form of deification, brought about a shock of nearly three times, causing unprecedented changes in the world. After that, Misato Katsuragi (voiced by Kotono Mitsui) and other former NERV members left and established Wille to resist Seele and NERV. Wille ordered Asuka (voiced by Yuko Miyamura) and Mari (voiced by Maaya Sakamoto) to recapture Unit-01 and Shinji Ikari (voiced by Megumi Ogata) sealed in the satellite orbit, but absolutely prohibited Shinji from boarding Unit-01.
