Jude Law stars in an eight-episode miniseries directed by Paolo Sorrentino, the director of The Great Beauty. Jude plays Lenny Berardo (a fictional version of Pius XIII), a complex and controversial pope who has compassion for the poor and learns how to master power in his confrontation with the Vatican's officials. The series is expected to start filming in the summer of 2015 and is jointly produced by Sky, HBO and Canal.
