Introduction

The Clone Wars have been going on for three years, and the Republic is about to win. General Gefet and Count Dooku (Christopher Lee), who split the Alliance, kidnapped the Prime Minister of the Parliament Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) and fled. Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and Anakin (Hayden Christensen) were ordered by the Council of Elders to rescue him. Anakin killed Count Dooku and rescued Palpatine, but General Gefet escaped. Anakin dreamed that his wife Amidala (Natalie Portman) would die in childbirth. In confusion, he turned to Palpatine for help, and the latter took this opportunity to alienate Anakin from the Jedi Council of Elders. As Anakin moved closer to Palpatine, a conspiracy against the Jedi Knights and the democracy they defended gradually unfolded. The film was nominated for the 78th Academy Award for Best Makeup in 2006 and the Grammy Award for Best Original Score for Film, Television or Other Visual Media.
