The Afghan war broke out, and a large number of young Americans were sent to the battlefield that was like purgatory. They sacrificed their lives for the so-called ideals and justice, and at the same time slaughtered lives. A field platoon of the 173rd Airborne Brigade of the US Army entered the Kulungal Valley, which is said to be home to many Taliban militants and is destined to become the most intense area of the war. In a battle, a soldier named John Restrepo died. His close comrades could not forget him, and eventually named a captured stronghold after Restrepo. They fought in the name of justice, but could not get the support of the local people. In the following year, the friendship between the soldiers became deeper, and the shadow of war and death always accompanied them... This film won the 2010 Sundance Film Festival Jury Documentary Award.
