The male protagonist Dave Skylark (played by James Franco) is an American talk show host, and his producer Aaron Rapoport (played by Seth Rogen) runs their very successful celebrity gossip TV show "Skylark Tonight". When they discovered that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un was a fan of their show, they decided to interview him and try to become officially authorized reporters. Dave and Aaron were preparing to go to Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, and when the CIA recruited them, the plan for this trip to Pyongyang changed: the two of them might be the last person you could imagine and the least capable of assassinating Kim Jong-un.
