Pokémon theatrical version is the movie version of Pokémon TV. It refers to the first round of movies released by Japan in July every year. The plot focuses on Pokémon and Satoshi's group. There may also be legendary Pokémon as the characteristics of the movie. The background of the story is based on the real world outside Japan. The members of Satoshi's group and the Pokémon in hand are the same as those in TV. In the four movie versions at the beginning of EP, the plot is still an extension and supplement of the TV plot. However, since the theatrical version often conflicts with the animated version in plot and setting, the production team began to set the plot of the movie version and the animated version to be relatively independent. However, some theatrical versions will have Easter egg-like linkage bridges in the animated series (such as the speedy Genesect Mewtwo Awakening). So far, 20 movies have been released. Usually in the year when the generations change, there will be at least one movie version with the next generation Pokémon as one of the protagonists or the content of the next generation as the theme, which is used as a promotion for the next generation.
