The film tells the story of a non-blood-related mother-daughter relationship spanning 60 years in a foreign country. The nearly 80-year-old grandmother Chen Huiming (played by Wu Yanshu) went to Nara alone to find her adopted daughter Chen Lihua, who had lost contact. With the help of the second-generation orphan Ozawa (played by Yingze) and the retired policeman Kazuo (played by Kunimura Hayabusa), she found many people who had contacted and helped Lihua. In this process, Chen Huiming seemed to have personally experienced Lihua's life after arriving in Japan, and her relationship with Ozawa and Kazuo also became closer during this journey.
