This comedy by French film master François Ozon is also the last of his "Female Trilogy" (Eight Beauties and Vase), adapted from the play of the same name by French playwrights Georges Bell and Louis Verneuil. The story is set in the 1930s, when poor actress Madeleine was accused of murder. With the help of her friends, she successfully overturned the case and became a famous actress. Ozon used the performance method of classic silent film plays to easily and slightly nonsensically hit the absurd moment: the "bad guy" became a good guy because of a lie, bringing a victory to the resolute sisters. "Auntie Yu" Isabelle Huppert is based on the world-famous actress Sarah Bernhardt, and plays a key figure in this film who is like a "god-sent-from-heaven" soldier.
