Jim Broadbent will star in the new film The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. Directed by Hiti MacDonald (Normal People), the film is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Rachel Joyce. It tells the story of Harold Fry (Broadbent) who received a letter from his friend Queenie, whom he had not seen for 20 years. Queenie had cancer and wrote a letter to say goodbye. Shocked and sad, Harold wrote a reply. On the way to posting, he thought of his own life from Queenie. He passed through one mailbox after another, walking farther and farther. Finally, he walked from the southwest of England to the northeast, across the whole of England. 87 days, 627 miles, with only one belief: as long as he walked, his old friend would live.
