This movie describes one of the most brutal wars in human history: the Battle of Thermopylae. In 480 BC, Persian King Xerxes I (Rodrigo Santoro) led an army of 300,000 to conquer Greece. Greek city-states quickly sent out troops to form a coalition to resist the invasion of the Persian army. The front line of the defense line was set up at Thermopylae in Greece, where King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) of Sparta led 300 elite soldiers from the city and more than 4,000 coalition troops to guard. Due to the betrayal of a traitor, the Greek army was copied by the Persian army behind them to form a siege. In order to preserve the strength of the coalition forces, Leonidas let the coalition forces retreat first, and he led 300 elite soldiers to defend the Thermopylae. Hundreds of thousands of Persian troops swarmed in, and the Spartan soldiers, who knew they were doomed, were in high spirits and burst out with amazing combat power in the battle. The entire war lasted for two days. In the end, Leonidas and his 300 elite soldiers were all killed, and the Persian army lost more than 20,000 soldiers. Two brothers of Xerxes I also died in this battle...
