Introduction

One night, the Touto University Hospital urgently admitted a mysterious man with a head injury. The neurosurgeon on duty, Minami Jin (played by Takao Ozawa), successfully performed the operation on him. After waking up from the operation, the man fled inexplicably. Jin fell down the stairs and fell into a coma while chasing. When he woke up again, he found himself in a forest with pan-haired samurai fighting. Jin, who thought he was filming a period drama, was almost affected, but fortunately he was saved by the young samurai Tachibana Kyotaro (played by Keisuke Koide). Jin followed the injured Kyotaro back to the Tachibana family and performed surgery on him under extremely simple conditions. Kyotaro's sister Tachibana Saki (played by Haruka Ayase), who witnessed the entire operation, was deeply touched and developed a strong interest in Jin. The next morning, Jin learned from Saki the shocking fact: he had traveled to the Edo period at the end of the shogunate! Since then, a huge historical picture has gradually emerged. The main plot is based on Jin's ups and downs in the medical institute and the many medical events after he set up his own clinic. Not only do characters/organizations such as Sakamoto Ryoma, Katsu Kaishu, Ogata Koan, and the Shinsengumi all appear, but Jin also encounters the beautiful oiran Nokaze (played by Miki Nakatani) who looks strikingly similar to his modern fiancée. Jin, who feels the magic of fate, tries to introduce modern medical technology to Edo while also trying to reverse the destined direction of everyone in the torrent of history. This drama is adapted from the representative manga of the same name by Japanese manga artist Norika Murakami, and the TV version of the final episode was also broadcast in 2011.
