The movie "The Great Wall" tells the story of an elite Chinese army in ancient times fighting a life-and-death battle with the monster Taotie on the world-famous Great Wall to protect humanity. European mercenary William (Matt Damon) and his companion Pero Tovar (Pedro Pascal) traveled thousands of miles to China to steal the formula for gunpowder, and accidentally discovered that the Great Wall was built to resist the Taotie that descended on the world once every 60 years. The Great Wall is full of internal organs, like a "land aircraft carrier", guarded by the Shadowless Forbidden Army for generations. Here, William witnessed the ferocity of the Taotie, the elite and bravery of the Shadowless Forbidden Army, and was moved by the trust and sacrifice among these soldiers, and joined the battle to protect humanity without hesitation.
