The Eastern Zhou Dynasty was a time of war and conquest. The seven states rose and fell. By the middle of the Warring States Period, the seven states were united. The Qin State, which had once been on the verge of extinction, rose rapidly under Shang Yang's reforms and became the most important force in the northwest wilderness. Under the pressure of conservative forces, the young King Huiwen of Qin, Ying Si (played by Fu Dalong), was forced to dismember Shang Yang, but he also suppressed the conservative faction with a negative attitude. As the King of Qi and Wei, the ambitious King Huiwen of Qin stepped onto the international stage under extremely dangerous circumstances, and at the same time eradicated the domestic opposition led by Gan Long, paving the way for dominating the world. In order to curb the eastward advance of the powerful neighbors, the declining King Hui of Wei (played by Li Liqun) appointed Su Qin's six-nation alliance theory to isolate Qin. While the Qin State was constantly encroaching on its surrounding areas, it also used Zhang Yi (played by Yu Entai) to propose a countermeasure of horizontal alliance. Heroes and wise men competed to appear on the stage, and the history of the Warring States entered the most turbulent era... This film is adapted from the second part of Sun Haohui's historical novel of the same name.
