Although Newt (Eddie Redmayne) assisted the US Ministry of Magic in bringing the evil black wizard Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) to justice, Grindelwald eventually escaped from confinement and came to Paris, France, one to gather believers to start a revolution, and the other to find Credence (Ezra Miller) who was also hiding here. The obscurity parasitic on Credence was an indispensable prop to help Grindelwald realize his ambitions. Grindelwald's escape caused an uproar in the entire magical world, and for a time, all the trees and grass were in danger. Dumbledore (Jude Law) secretly found Newt, hoping that he could go to Paris and find Credence before Grindelwald. Newt is joined on his journey to Paris by No-Maj Jacob (Dan Fogler), who is trying to find his lover Queenie (Alison Sudol), who had come to Paris to seek refuge with his sister Tina (Katherine Waterston) after a quarrel.
